RSS For Beginners: How To Get Started For Free! Part 1

Part One: Free Online Services

You can start taking advantage of rss syndication imediately for free. There are some decent free online services you can use to feed your Twitter and Facebook account(s), and if your clever enough, your blogs too!

My favorite is dlvr.it, while not as easy to learn as the others, once you get the hang of their interface, you will enjoy the options it gives you! Other good services are Twitterfeed and BlogsFeedNet (formerly Twitterlive). These two also will provide you with sufficient options and are much easier to learn then dlvr.it but not as good imho.

All you need now are twitter or facebook accounts and some rss feeds of course. I'm assuming you know what rss feeds are and how to find them. I will include a brief over view on how to make and mix feeds! I won't cover Yahoo Pipes in this post as it will be a over kill for now. I will however provide you with a few more free online services that you can add rss feeds and mix them and then be able to use your new rss feeds with dlvr.it, twitterfeed and twitterlive.

You can go to any one of these online services to mix and combine rss feeds in to one rss feed. RSS Mix, Feed Combined, and Blast Costa. There are others but I use these three. What I do is keep a list of all my rss feeds on a text file for fast easy submissions and to check if they are operational.

Now all you need is rss feeds and social accounts! You can get rss feeds any where, but I prefer to use my own I create with RSS Editor. That is a purchased desktop app but well worth it. You can skip it for now in the begining.  Just get rss feeds the usual way from blogs, and sponsors. You may want to mix some non sponsor feeds in them to from yahoo rss just to make your accounts look human and not too spammy.

Now all you need are accounts from twitter and facebook. These two integrate with all the rss feed services and once you have accounts with them you can connect other social sites to those! The plot it thickens!

The idea of using rss feeds is to automate the posting process on our social sites. Include your affiliate links and mix some none affiliate posts to. The frquency you want to maintain a steady supply of posts will be determined by 2 things. How many social accounts you have and the time duration between your posts. So the more  posts you want, the larger your rss feed should be, but don't make it too big as it can time out often and you'll miss post times. Experiement I'm not going to do all your work for you! You will need to eventually update your feeds. Which will be covered in another post.

What you do not want to do is make duplicate posts with in the same week! This can easily be done by simply modifying the title a little but you still do not want too many similar posts either! While modifying titles will get thru spam bots, humans will still see you as spammy. Too spammy will get you flagged and eventually reviewed by a human!

I did say you can also feed your blogs with rss feeds too, but I will not cover it in this part. I want you to get your feet wet first! So go ahead and give this a try so far!
